Mr. Lisandro Alonso is best know for his 2014 effort "Jauja", which I have admired truly. Of latin Lynchian descent, Mr. Alonso brings metaphysics to cinema. His characters are mysterious, dangerous, wandering, searching, killing animals, waiting.

Fantasma is a film within a film. Its main character is the same character from Mr. Alonso’s previous effort, Los Muertos. He wanders into a gigantic building, one hosting a cinema as well. He ends up seeing the movie in which he plays. Another character from an even older of Alonso’s films, La Libertad, is wandering the same building. He doesn’t see any movie. What are these men doing? The same thing we all do, they’re looking out for something.

An exercise in form, one hour and 3 min.
