Starting this year, I'm taking a sidestep in the CFF organisation, assuming the role of Artistic Director and inviting the younger, smarter, faster Rareș to take the lead as Head of Operations. So meet us next year for a bigger, bolder, brighter CFF6. Till then, here's what happened this year.
Job done, around 3000 people attended all 11 events (screenings, exhibitions, parties). Onward to some of that good old quick and emotional film reviewing.

Took a long absence from seeing and writing about films. The second edition of Câmpulung Film Fest, a home-grown adventure taking place in my hometown of Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Romania, happened between the 24th and 27th of August. A team of 14 plus a body of 35 volunteers attracted over 3000 people in a town with no cinema halls. I’m proud and exhausted. Here’s the making of the 4 days:

It’s been around 20 years since the last film screened in Câmpulung Moldovenesc, my hometown from Romania. The last one I remember seeing there is The English Patient.
Story in short:
Info #1: The older I get the more I love my hometown.
Info #2: I have friends in high places, like the Danish National Filmschool from Copenhagen, Denmark and the National Institute of Design from Ahmedabad, India. All talented, interesting filmmakers. Best way to keep in contact was to honour their work.
Conclusion: Organise a yearly party. Call it Câmpulung Film Fest.
