Snowy Hair and Little Eyes

short film, documentary, 29', 2018

During a frosty blizzard, while mass anti-government protests shake the capital city, somewhere far, in a small town, a 90 year old grandma waits for Spring to come. More than two months have passed since she last got out of her apartment. When will this winter ever end?

Filmed over one week in Bârlad, Vaslui county, Romania, in February 2017.

Seven Testimonies About a Past

documentary, 1h35', 2018

On October 12, 1941, the entire Jewish community of Câmpulung Moldovenesc, around 1,500 people - doctors, lawyers, teachers, craftsmen, merchants, clergy, children, parents, old people - were loaded into freight cars at Câmpulung Est station and deported to Transnistria. Three years later, only a third of them returned.

Curious to better understand what happened and to discover more about the Jewish settlers, I filmed a series of interviews in 2018, in Israel, with those who were children at the time. I was helped by a number of people in this endeavor, descendants of the old families, who feel, as I do, that the memory of this community must be saved, as much as is left of it: Dr. Dina Feldman, Gabriella Fainaro, Nathan Gartner and Eli Elrich.
